Foolish Pride
Perhaps I have offended you-
‘Tho I know not when or how.
But your attitude toward me
Seems quite cold and distant now.
I know I often speak before
My brain is really working,
And utter comments usually meant
to be trite or silly joking.
Truly my intentions
Were not to hurt or judge you.
I allowed my ego to respond
And clouded honest view.
This life’s too short to lose a friend,
Over foolishness or pride
Please, my friend, I beg of you-
Forgive my thoughtless side.
